Autograph letter signed, dated : Rome, to Giovanni Ricordi in Milan, 1838 Sept. 19.

Saying he wrote in April, that Ricordi's reply of 2 July arrived in Rome while Basili was in Ascoli to escape the bad air of August, that he was ill and did not attend a single performance, discussing the prices of some items, including a watch that Manini bought from him, asking for copies of his piano sonata dedicated to [Francesco?] Pollini and of his Solfeggi da basso, adding that he will try to acquaint the dilettantes with Ricordi's new music catalogue, etc.
